She studied Sociology (Diploma) with the main emphasis on sociology of migration and inter-ethnic relations, demography, early childhood and family education, and sociology of the life-course at the Otto-Friedrich University of Bamberg where she was awarded her Diploma (M.A.) in 2008.

Prior to that, she attained a professional degree as “Foreign language correspondent” at Euro Sprachschule, Bamberg. In 2000 she started working at the european forum for migration studies (efms), Institute at the University of Bamberg, where she has been in the position of a researcher since 2008.

At the efms she has conducted several quantitative and qualitative research projects and evaluation studies in the fields of social cohesion, with particular reference to migrants and ethnical and religiously diverse societies, network relations, education and integration policies and policy implementation.

She is a Steering Committee Member of the SIRIUS Network (European Policy Network on the education of children and youth people with a migrant background) and co-director of the Zimbabwe based NGO Nhindiwa OVCs e.V.
